Irvine Park Railroad is a 1/3 scale family train ride at Irvine Regional Park in the city of Orange in Orange County. There is a fee to enter the park and a fee for the train ride. I always though Lionel's parts ordering page was pretty decent, they seem to have a good system in place (except for follow-up order confirmations for some odd reason). Will be interesting to see what platform the MTH parts business is built on. MTH also produced many sets of New York City Subway cars, licensed by the MTA, and two sets of Chicago 'L' cars. Lionel currently holds the MTA license for the NYC Subway cars in O scale while Walthers holds the license in HO scale after acquiring Life-Like. The license transfer is in part due to MTH producing sets covered in graffiti.

Rental cars are hard to find, so you might need to walk to local attractions, such as the Trinidad History Museum and A.R. The museums, along with restaurants and hotels, are about a 10-minute walk from the Amtrak station.
